My Calgary Super Bingo cards are at the printers, and I can’t wait to leave for Calgary this Thursday. Info about my project on the very nice new Artcity website.
Writing for the catalogue:
I’ve inherited my parents’ passion for road trips. Nearly every summer during my childhood we’d pack up the minivan for several weeks of [...]

Ho,
This weekend Cindy and David and I have to finish our (really late but still acceptable) entry into the World Telekinesis Competition. In the spirit of intensely serious competition, I must state that our triumvirate of highly-advanced throbbing super-brains will kick your team’s ass.
Last week I went to Calgary for research for Calgary Super Bingo [...]

For people who’ve met our kitties, there is sad news on the ladies’ home front. We said goodbye to Jackson, our big lazy loverboy (the one who Mikiki saved after he tumbled out of a window and broke his leg), on Wednesday. Little mister Jackson had been sick since last fall; we’d known [...]

Overlook & The Barry Hotel

It’s installed at Boomtown Outfitters on 20th, between Avenues B and C. Go and see it (at night), and Stacia’s, Joi’s and Sylvia’s too.
Relatedly, Saskatoon City Council decides what will happen to the Barry Hotel tonight. Will they tear it down out of spite? Will it be renovated into affordable housing? Will [...]

It’s Doug…

I made this for AKA’s art auction tonight. It’s made out of linky plastic bits that I forget the name of. It’s a picture of Doug, the Sask Arts Board’s visual/media arts consultant. There’s another side view on flickr.

I’m a Super-Submitter

Recently, I’ve responded to calls for submissions for several shows…I think it’s becoming my specialty. Yesterday I submitted several needlepoints to Timeraiser, and two weeks ago I sent a proposal to Artcity: for a wicked-nerdy project called Calgary Super Bingo, in which I would develop a set of Calgary-specific “road-trip bingo” cards. I’ve been sitting [...]

Simpleposie + 1950 Fords

Wow, my ten questions about fandom and contemporary art were posted today over at simpleposie. Please go answer some, if would make me so happy!
Also, you can see some photos from Anthony Easton’s 1950 Ford show. You can kinda see my tractor in some of the group shots, on the right; it’s blue-grey [...]

The Overlook

Working on my peephole for the Riversdale BID. Here I was playing with the felt mice. There are more photos in my Flickr.

Coverage on the CBC, last week.
I forgot to get a picture of my tractor before I sent it off. (Not a big deal. It was totally craptastic; I can’t draw at all.)

The Walls Have Peepholes

I got picked for The Walls Have Peepholes, a public art project being organized by the Riversdale BID. I thought I would post my (hastily written) proposal. It’s a bit awkward, but the project will kick ass. It has to be finished by the end of August.
